Children’s purr-fect opening for cat clinic

Our new £180,000 cat clinic was officially opened thanks to local schoolchildren playing a starring role at the big launch.

We ran a competition for pupils at nearby Binfield Primary School to draw a picture of their favourite cat, with the three winners invited to cut the ribbon at the launch of the clinic earlier this month.

The grand opening proved to be a purr-fect day of celebrations and the school was given £100 worth of book vouchers as a thank-you for taking part.
Extensive renovations have taken place at the Binfield hospital to create a dedicated ‘cat-only’ treatment centre.

Moor Cottage is approved as a gold standard cat-friendly clinic by the prestigious International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), which recognises best practice in caring for cats.

Our clinical director Roberta Duncan said: “It was a terrific day and we’re very grateful to the children for helping with the launch.

“We are very much a community-focused vets, so it was lovely to welcome the children, their families and members of the public to give them a behind-the-scenes look at the centre.

“We have invested a lot of time and money to provide first-class facilities and equipment which is focused on feline care and treatment.

“The cat clinic is a completely separate bespoke building for cats to help provide a stress-free environment for them, and all our staff are trained in feline-friendly care.

“It’s all to ensure our cats receive the best possible care from the moment they come through the door to the time they go home.”
