Henri is our Brave Heart for May 2018

Henri visited Moor Cottage for the first time when he was eight weeks old and we have been providing his veterinary care for 9 years.

He is the most adorable labradoodle with perfect manners.  In May 2017, after some urinary issues, we performed an abdominal ultrasound scan and a mass was noticed in his bladder.

Shortly after this Henri had major surgery to remove the mass.

moor cottage patient dog henriThe laboratory histology report confirmed a malignant tumour of the bladder wall.

Although the tumour had been removed, chemotherapy was discussed with Henri’s owners and an appointment was made to see a specialist at Fitzpatrick referrals.

Henri started his chemotherapy at Fitzpatrick referrals then continued at two week intervals at Moor Cottage.

Henri has had his ups and downs during this time, his urine and white blood cell count was closely monitored and he had regular scans to check that all was still well.

In October 2017, after a scan was clear, his chemotherapy interval was increased to a monthly dose.  At present Henri is still on this dose and is doing well.

We have chosen Henri to receive this award as he is such a lovely dog and is a pleasure to treat; his owners have supported his illness and treatment unfailingly.

We all have a soft spot for Henri and look forward to seeing him every month.

Henri has a very Brave Heart, truly a worthy recipient of this award.

He has put his trust in us, never complains, and is always happy to visit Moor Cottage.
